1. The Brown Lady of Raynham Hall is one of England’s most famous hauntings. The spectral figure of a woman wearing a 17th-century brown dress, thought to be that of Lady Dorothy Walpole, has been reported in the Long Gallery of the hall since the 1800s.
2. The Phantom Coach of Cornwall is one of the oldest ghostly tales in England. According to legend, a ghostly white horse pulls a coach filled with headless passengers and an ominous black figure down the roads of Cornwall at night.
3. The lost White Lady of Seaford Head is said to haunt the cliffs near Eastbourne, East Sussex. The ghostly apparition is of an unknown woman shrouded in a white veil, believed to be the lost bride of a sailor killed in the Great War.
4. The Mad Monk of Ramsgate is said to haunt the grounds of St Augustine’s Church. Witnesses report hearing footsteps and voices and seeing a tall figure in a long, grey robe on the grounds of the church.
5. A phantom figure, possibly meeting from the 16th-century, has been seen in Sudeley Castle. The ghost is said to be Jack of Dover, a former court jester with a white face, black hood and bells back in the reign of Queen Elizabeth
